Facebook fail

February 18, 2009

Apparently this photo was labeled inappropriate, or offensive by Facebook. Normally, I wouldn’t post this on the planet ubuntu sphere, because this has nothing to do with software at all. It departs largely from the battle over the Facebook Terms of Usage which caused a huge scandal on the Internet. But I want the exposure. To re-iterate. The following photo. Offensive. On Facebook.

Um… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? REALLY FACEBOOK? REALLY? A dolphin. Eye to Eye with a puppy. REALLY? I fear for mankind’s survival at times like this.

unbelievable…….. glad you shared it. I would like to know the reason for this ‘banned’ photo.
I have similar experience at about sensitive topics about finance issues. If you post a critical article or opinion, well funded in a mainstream paper then the change is very high it will be banned…(the truth may not be told??) But that’s another topic i know. Again, hope you can find out the real reason for this action.

  5. The problem isn’t the interspecies nature of the love affair between dolphin and puppy. And the problem isn’t that the puppy is only 12 dog-years old. The problem is that the world is not ready for gray on black mixed couples. Racists.

A pic of inter-species love. You’re so naughty.

  7. You think this photo is NOT offensive? Interspecies love is UNGODLY, UNNATURAL and UNAMERICAN! How dare you post such disgusting filth! I had to pull out my eyeballs after looking at your page! I thought you were going to post something innocent. But NOOOOOOOOOO you had to post DEMONIC PROPAGANDA! It is people like you that are making our world head towards Harmusageddon!

I will say a prayer for you and thankfully Facebook had the decency to remove such wickedness from their site. That’s why I am an avid fan of Facebook and use it all the time.

Are you serious? See, this is yet another reason why I despise these social networking sites. Just another buzz word and just another waste of time. Facebook and MySpace, proof the human race has to much time on their hands :p

  10. I’d just like to point out that it really isn’t facebook fail. Facebook has to have such policies in place to prevent people form putting up truly inappropriate pictures. Unfortunately, someone has decided to abuse that system and mark that picture as inappropriate. You should examine the privacy settings on your account and see who could have seen the photo. If its public, such is life. If it is only available to your friends, you should think about who would play a trick or who is upset with you.

    Facebook is gay, seriously.

I heard all the stuff about the TOS. In fact I had some people spam my facebook discussion board about it. Good times.
